PilatesHigh for Tweens and Teens – Stretching potential

 

It is important for us all to have good movement patterns, and retain range of movement and good posture as we get older. PilatesHigh are classes designed specifically with this in mind. They are fun, interactive classes, perfect for children aged 9 and up, and suitable for all fitness levels and athletic abilities.

There are many potential benefits for children living an active life style (especially as they grow), apart from the obvious one of physical health; two very important considerations are motor development skills and self-esteem.  Furthermore evidence has also shown that regular physical activity can help with stress and anxiety, as well as improve concentration and focus, helping with academic performance.

We use music and the Pilates Equipment to create a non competitive class that is both enjoyable and challenging. Pilates is also a perfect complimentary activity to other sporting activities, and in some cases can improve performance by teaching correct movement, bringing awareness to our bodies and focusing on strengthening and relieving tension in our muscles. Many professional athletes use Pilates to enhance their performance as part of their training regime. Pilates can also help prevent injury not only when participating in sport, but in our normal day to day activities.

Summer Classes

The following kids classes are available over the summer:

Pilates for kids ages 9-12

Wednesday June 26th 11.30am to 12.30pm

Thursdays June 27th 11.30am to 12.30pm

Thursday July 11th 11am to 12pm

Then every Thursday from August 8th to 29th 11am to 12pm

These classes are limited to 4 per class and only 1 or 2 spots left in a few.

$20 plus sales tax per class

Age 13-16 Thursday June 27th and Thursday 11th July 9.30am to 10.30am

Then every Thursday from August 8th to 29th 9.30am to 10.30am

$20 plus sales tax per class

Pilates for Dancers Ages 12-16 Wednesday August 21st 10.30am to 12.30pm. ($45 plus sales tax)
