I first discovered Pilates in an effort to recover from a back injury I sustained in a car accident in 2003. A physiotherapist recommended Pilates as part of my recovery programme and I found that Pilates not only helped relieve and improve my back pain, but also improved my posture and overall strength.
Inspired to understand more about how Pilates worked, and by way of a self help programme, I decided to not only participate in Pilates but take my interest further by becoming a qualified instructor so I could help others in learning and experiencing the benefits of Pilates.
I qualified with Body Control Pilates in April 2005 and I am a member of the Body Control Pilates Association (BCPA), and a Level 3 instructor on the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). I regularly attend courses and workshops to keep up to date with the latest research and techniques.
