Do you ever long to go back to those childhood days? The days when you felt protected and someone else could make everything better.
Looking back now things seemed so simple (obviously at the time it did not always feel like this) but now I sometimes feel like the whole world is resting on my shoulders. It scares me how my decisions could affect not just my life, but the lives of those so precious to me.
So I was surprised at how revisiting a childhood family past time, such as a walk in the woods, gave me such comfort.
We stumbled across Alice Holt Forest, near Farnham, on our first trip to meet our puppy (another story) and we were pleasantly surprised to see how much there is to do there. These are a woods with a difference.
Along the adventure trail (just one of the many trails on offer) there are structures for the kids to climb and explore. A 3d maze, assault course, wooden owl tower and many more. If you look closely at the photo, you will see a little adventurer peering out the peep hole of the tower.
It’s a nice change to find a place with things to offer all the girls (these days we do struggle to find an activity to please an age range of 7 to 2), but this ticked all the boxes. We all left feeling relaxed and nicely tired.
The perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
How do you enjoy your Sunday?
